Falling for Est

I’ve been disappointed with mainstream magazines lately. The deluge of uninspired layouts, the high ad ratio, inflated puff pieces and photoshopping so overly ambitious that you can’t decipher whether Carey Mulligan or Michelle Williams is on the cover (in all fairness they both have that vulnerable, vintage-pixie-sex-angel thing going on). Enter Est magazine, an Australian publication that covers global style with an Aussie twist. The layouts are uncluttered, the photography is Pinterest-worthy and the blend of modern design with rustic accents is executed at the perfect equilibrium. Here are images from their Scandinavian issue—only a fabulous, 6-foot Scandinavian milkmaid-turned-city girl can roll around town with two snakeskin clutches and no pants and make it look like an unintentional Vogue moment.  (Wave of jade jealously appears and then mists away.)
